Gear Live | Griffin Announces iTrip for iPod nano

After having my nano for a few weeks now I’ve stopped listenening to the radio in the car and listen to podcast’s instead.  So far I’ve had to have the headset on to listen, but when these hit the stores I guess I can use the car stereo again.

Bowled for 55

Today marked my return to outdoor cricket.  It’s been over a year since I last strapped on the pads, as this time last year we were heavy in preparations of the wedding.

Due to all of the work that is being done at Best Bets, I’m working Saturdays for the next few weeks, but conveniently Blackburn South has a team that plays some of the games on Sunday, of which I was lucky enough to be a part of.

Last week on Thursday night I got the call to play this week.  Today’s team plays in C2 (i think) and is our 3rds..  I wasn’t sure what sort of team we had this year, but I was shown that we have a gun team.

We started off solid but lost Merv in about the 4th over for 4, but from there it was runs galore. El Capitan kicked on for 61, then the next 2 smashed out destroying the attack.  Not totally sure of names yet, but Parker was part of it and the other bloke make 70 odd.

A couple of smaller scores in the middle, then in at 7 was me.  Parks was still in and he saw me get up to then through the 50 barrier. On 55 the brain freezed and I swung hard at one that I should have blocked and it went through and was bowled.

We were at the end of the innings, and the couple that followed were out there to make the most of the fast outfield and the tired bowlers.

At the end of the 65 overs we had amassed and HUGE 8/455 with Parks being not out on 174 (ish).

A super day on the ground for us all, and sets us up for a great chance for the win next week.  Just keep the rain away.

Day off for me

Given the amount of work I've been doing over the last few weeks, and also as I worked Saturday I decided to take today off and catch up on all the things that I haven't had time to do.

So far today I’ve been out to rebel sport and bought an entirely new Outdoor Cricket set of gear. Then had lunch with my wonderful wife, and then it will be back to Maddock Sports to get a new Bat.

After that I think I'll contact Holden about getting my iPod wired into the stereo.

Not sure of the plans after that, but seeing as I have the time, its “Roast Lamb” night tonight.

Also in other news, Sharkey should be getting his new HD Plasma delivered this arvo, so we might head over after dinner to check it out and help with any of the setup that may be required.

We're Live - bestbets.com.au

All the work I’ve been doing for the last 13 months has finally come to completion and we have launched the new services on the Best Bets website.

I’ve been working with the guys here for the last 13 months on a project to rebuild the entire website and develop the world leading Comparator product.  Best Bets is a magazine that gets published every week with all the information and data you need to punt on the races over the weekend.

The new website has extended this offering to allow punters to access up to the minute data on all race meetings held in Australia all days of the week.  For the last month or so we have had the first half of the site live, showing the new UI, new live feeds, tote feeds and some of the additional member only functions.  But on Wednesday we launched “Comparator”. Comparator is the name for our product that allows you to open accounts with Australian bookmakers and punt directly from the Best Bets interface.  You can have one account with us, and we’ll automatically open others with the bookmakers you select and allow you to place bets with them.

We’re just seeing the start of the offerings from Best Bets, and I’m really excited about the possibilities that we have been discussing and the rate at which we are making these ideas become a reality.

So if ur up for a punt, or just want to get the lowdown on all that is horse racing, check out our new site bestbets.com.au, and feel free to send me feedback via the orange button at the top of the Best Bets site.

Happy Punting
